Home School Farm

A Year of Ideas and Inspiration for Your Journey to the Simple Life

By Amy Doeun

This book sprang from our personal journey. As many of you know we started out renting land in Stillwater, MN and farming there while we continued to live on the Eastside of St. Paul. We were commuting almost every day in the hopes of one day fulfilling our dream.

Our goal was to build our farm business and eventually move to the country. We started a blog in 2009 chronicling our experience. We found that our story really resonated with people and we gradually built a following through our blog.

When we did move to our farm I got the idea to write a book chronicling the type of projects that we have going in each month of the year. As a homeschooler I thought it would be a great resource to other parents that might not know what seasonal living looks like or that might want ideas for how to live more simply and seasonally.
The book is divided in monthly sections with a brief introductory essay followed by 4-5 projects for the month. I also intersperse 6 longer essay throughout the book featuring topics like budgets, loss/death, passion, abundance, etc. It is a full color book with pictures taken by me on our farm.
